#1 A snow day - a day at home after the cancellation of school for children due to snow, ice, or very cold weather – czyli dzień wolny od szkoły z powodu złej pogody:

„Nothing like murder to ruin a snow day.” (Nie ma to jak morderstwo, psujące śnieżny dzień.)

#2 A cold snap – the sudden (and maybe unexpected) arrival of very cold weather - znane nam „nagłe ochłodzenie” lub „przymrozek”.

„This cold snap we're having... The bridges are probably iced over...” (To nagłe ochłodzenie nie jest zbyt dobre, mosty są pewnie oblodzone.)

#3 To hibernate– to spend the winter dormant (for example, many animals hibernate during the winter months); to withdraw or be in seclusion:

#4 Frigid – extremely cold weather/temperatures:

“Don’t forget to wear warm clothes to school! It’s frigid this morning.” (Nie zapomnij założyć ciepłych ubrań do szkoły! Jest koszmarnie zimno tego ranka.)

#5 Slushy– from the noun slush, which means partly melted snow, #grząski:

„Then we was all back on the slushy hill.” (I znowu powróciliśmy na grząski stok.)

#6 Comfort food– food that is simple and gives us a feeling of warmth or reminds us of home: #dobrejedzenie #domowejedzenie
